Mission and values – NGP Neuro

Mission and values

Our mission and goals

NGP has been established by The Montreal Neurological Institute (The Neuro) in order to bring together several private and public actors around the common objective of better understanding the nervous system, discover mechanisms of disease and develop and deliver much needed early diagnostic modalities and effective treatments for neurological diseases.

Aim

With this partnership, the NGP will bring about a step change in the discovery process for brain diseases by harnessing and integrating recent advances in genomics, big data, Open Science and the unique patient populations followed at the Neuro and in Quebec. The approach will shed light on disease mechanisms, identify new human biology-based targets and accelerate the development of innovative therapies.

Values

  • Research excellence and integrity in the spirit of the Neuro Open Science framework, collaboration and accountability.
  • The NGP aims to facilitate a world-leading neuroscience research at McGill. Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is essential to ensuring excellence. Our aim is to build a community where everyone has the same chance to succeed. We will work to raise standards and facilitate change with a  focus on the neurosciences domain.
  • Realizing opportunities for successful community inclusion in all aspects of our work.
