Members

Each NGP Member shall contribute to funding the Scientific Program in the manner specified in their NGP Membership Agreement. However, to be considered an NGP Member, a minimum contribution of US$1M per year over a 3-year term must be made “in cash” or “in kind” or a combination of both Each

NGP Member will have a Participant with the right to one vote on the Governing Board for each US$1M per year contributed to the NGP. In the event, that an NGP Member contributes more than the minimum required amount, that NGP Member’s voting power on the Governing Board, will be increased proportionally to the amount to the additional contribution

Advantages of being a member: 9 months exclusivity / Members of GB and SC – Orientation role for project future

Collaborators

An organization that may be interested in collaborating with the NGP but is unable to meet the requirements to become an NGP Member may be involved in some aspects of the Scientific Program in an ad-hoc capacity without being a formal Member of the NGP. Any such NGP Collaborator will need to be approved by the Governing Board in consultation with the Steering Committee. NGP Collaborators shall make technological contributions and/or cash and/or in kind contributions that will be less than US$1M/year.

Open science and intellectual property

the Scientific Program will be performed in respect of the MNI Open Science Principles and as such all Results generated under the Scientific Program will be deposited into the C-BIG Repository and will made available and shared openly after the 9-month exclusivity period. The Parties shall not seek to obtain patents or other intellectual property

protection claiming any of the Results generated by McGill under the Scientific Program. Notwithstanding the foregoing each Party shall be free to patent or otherwise protect any invention or downstream result generated through the use of the Results to the extent that such patent or other intellectual property protection does not restrict access to or use of the Results by third parties.
